Pastor Michael & Mindi Winakur
Pastor Michael and Mindi are the founders and Senior Pastors of Cross Culture Church.
The church started with a handful of people in 2016 and now meets in their very own building in
the Far Northeast Denver/Aurora area. Pastor Michael's calling to plant and lead a movement of
multicultural churches of faithful disciples of Jesus began at a young age when he grew up up in a
diverse neighborhood and saw people from all walks of life reaching the lost and growing together in
Jesus. Pastor Michael and Mindi have a deep love for the body of Christ and an overwhelming
desire to see disciples of Jesus be made and filled with the Spirit to bring Heaven to earth.
Additionally, Pastor Michael and Mindi have a passion for developing future pastors and leaders
from within and sending them out to make faithful followers of Jesus. They love spending time
together with their three children.

Church History
Pastor Pastor Michael and Mindi Winakur had a dream of starting a church with a
simple goal: to make faithful disciples of Jesus from diverse cultural backgrounds. Their
vision was to create a church filled with people who are committed followers of Jesus,
filled with the Holy Spirit, rooted in their identity in Jesus, and living on mission while
being transformed to be more like Jesus.
The Winakurs heard the call to plant a church in 2013. After spending 2 years of praying God
brought them to a McDonalds in Green valley ranch in the far northeast Denver area. While at
McDonalds with their oldest son their son began to play with children from every nation and
generation and the Holy Spirit told Michael and Mindi this was it. That day they signed on a house,
soon after they started recruiting launch team members and partnering with 13 churches to join
them in planting a church of faithful disciples that looks like heaven.
In the fall of 2015, this dream became a reality when a dedicated group of local families
gathered for launch team meetings in a ballet studio in Green Valley Ranch. As the initial group
continued to grow, Cross Culture Church was officially launched at Martin Luther King Jr Early
College in February 2016. From the very first service, the focus was on creating faithful disciples of
Jesus and empowering everyone through the Holy Spirit. After 5 years of operating as a mobile
church in schools and enduring a pandemic, the church purchased its first and current facility in 2021, at 3995 Lewiston St. Aurora, CO.
The church is passionate about creating faithful disciples of Jesus who are empowered by the
Spirit and go out to do the same. They believe that this is just the beginning of what God has in
store for the people of Cross Culture Church, and they invite others to join them for a Sunday
morning gathering, in a home group, or a discipleship course.
